2013 / Unburned clay, papers

Untitled is made of several unburned clay bodies covered with papers.

Most of time we expect that clay should be burned. However, the burning porcess makes some features of clay invisible and drags attention to the functional side.Untitled shows one of the important features of clay - during the drying process the clay body reduces its dimension.

The papers were put on wet clay bodies, which have a hole in the middle. The clay becomes smaller and pull the paper together - this is documented by the air bubbles and the wrinkles.

In order to point out this unexpected thinking, Untitled is presented in ceramic market, where visitors can buy tableware and vase.
